12/8/2016 0 Comments Final ExhibitionThe first group arrived at the fair at about 11, and set up our booth. In our booth, we displayed our writing pieces, pictures, and posters. While there, Vania, Michael, Claudia, and Anakarimhe talked to people about the project and what we did in the community. Javi, Naja, Valdemar, Azzael, and I arrived in the second group around 4. We brought our 'Next Steps' poster. When we got to the booth, we saw that the checkerboard wasn't out, so we put it out for the kids to play with. They loved it! They immediately dropped the jenga pieces, and ran over, asking us to teach them how to play. They even wanted us to play other games with them, like tag.

12/6/2016 0 Comments Day Before ExhibitionWe finally finished painting the giant 7x7 checker board, and Naja came up with the brilliant idea to crochet the checker pieces out of yarn. All we have to finish by tomorrow is crocheting the pieces and laminating our writing pieces. Both of these things take a while because sometimes the printer gets jammed, and the laminating process takes a while since there are so many writing pieces.
12/2/2016 0 Comments Checker BoardToday we are finishing our finishing our giant checker board to bring to the fair for the kids' hour. We cut it before we went on Thanksgiving break, but now we are painting it. It takes a while since it is so big, and we still have to figure out what we are going to use as pieces. We are thinking of using the pieces cut off from the bottoms of christmas trees, and painting them.
12/1/2016 0 Comments Exhibition PrepThis week we are preparing for our final presentation that will take place next week at the fair. We will be presenting everything we have done for this project to the people attending the fair. We will be bringing our writing pieces, photos, and evidence to prove that we have made a difference in the community. To get the writing pieces ready, we have to edit them, laminate them, and put them in a booklet. We have finished most of them, except for one. We have also created a QR code, and begun to craft a schedule for the event.
